As vaccination has helped millions against COVID-19, But no vaccination has been able to prevent transmission. Even fully vaccinated patient have suffered from SARS-CoV-2.
According to a research, Virus can infect fully vaccinated patient as a non-vaccinated patient.

According to a study, Chewing Gum made from Plant grown protein, Can be effective at reducing transmission. Chewing this gum reduces viral content load in Saliva, thereby reducing chances of transmission.

Daniell, An researcher says, Virus of SARS-CoV-2 replicates in salivary glands. And when a infected host sneeze or coughs virus is transferred. But this gum neutralizes virus in gland, An simple way to prevent transmission.
Daniell is working on angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) protein for treating Hypertension. His recent work on ACE2 has proved to be beneficial against COVID.

ACE2 works as a binding for SARS-CoV-2 spike proteins. This property can reduce capacity of viral load of Virus from a host.

Daniell is involved in development of gum infused with ACE2 proteins. Daniell thinks gum infused with plant grown proteins can neutralize SARS-CoV-2 virus.
To find this out, He met Ronald Collman at Penn Medicine. Collman is working in studying swabs since early phase of pandemic.

This team conducted a research. They grew ACE2 in a plant to test Chewing Gum. Resulting plant was incorporated with cinnamon flavour which shown positive signs over neutralizing SARS-CoV-2.

Same study was conducted by the Wistar Institute and Penn Vet, They used less efficient pathogen of SARS-CoV-2. Plant grown protein gum successfully neutralized SARS-CoV-2 either by blocking ACE2 receptors or by Binding with Spike Protein. This prevented Virus from entering a host cell.

Finally, Researchers served this gum to a infected patients. Results shown negligible presence of Viral RNA in saliva of patient.

Team is trying to get permit for medical trials of use of plant grown protein gum, Whether is it safe to use and effective when used on humans.

Though this is in stage of development but if it shows positive signs then this could be used for those who need to remove masks for verification. It could be used for dental checkup too.
