"We found a central part of Valles Marineris to be packed full of water."
-Alexey Malakhov, study co-author

According to new researches conducted by Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO) - Fine Resolution Epithermal Neutron Detector (FREND)- which can detect Hydrogen. As water is made of 2 atoms of hydrogen, TGO can easily detect it. Astronomers found a site on Mars called Candor Chaos, Showing high detections of presence of water. Water may be dwelling into this massive site.

Alexey Malakhov, An researcher says, We found central park with full of water. This region is more likely like Earth's permafrost region. Here water is in constant contact with dry soil under low temperature.

Valles Marineris, A canyon is one of the most crucial feature of Planet Mars. Valles Marineris is five times longer and ten times deeper than Grand Canyon of Earth. Earlier astronomers have studied surface and dust of Mars where they found little traces of Water.

This new study will enable astronomers to increase their depth of study. More Mars surface could be studied to find water and more minerals with greater accuracy. TGO, Trace Gas Orbiter can look into depth of one meters below dusty surface. This allows researchers to penetrate dusty layer and see what's going into the soil.

Astronomers says, If the detected mineral is Ice then Water could be available 40% in near surfaces. FREND has detected some elements with presence of water. But study reveals this may be just Ice.

HÃ¥kan Svedhem, the former ESA project scientist says, As this is one of the major findings of space discoveries. But more time should be given for observation of what type of water are we dealing. Knowing exact location of where water has traced is essential to understand what happened way years ago there. Presence of water increases the chances to have habitable environment on esteemed planet. There may be presence of life on Mars long back.
